Start of Something Good

The way the curves and corners of your body
Fit perfectly into my own
The arch of your back, the caves of your chest
The broadness of your shoulder
And the strength of your limbs
As they gently, softly rest across my back

The way your cheeks press close into my hair
How you would steal kisses on my cheeks
Once, twice
The way you toughen up and squeeze me
As if we will not see each other the next day
The way I am unable to speak with my lips to your neck

How letting each other go is the toughest act.

I have become comfortable in you
The grip of your hand, the sway of your arms
Your shoulder both a pillow and pillar
To give me rest and to shield me
