If they ask me how it feels

If they begin to ask me
How it feels like to be with you
I would say, it is like watching
A thousand sunrises that never sets.

Gazing at you across the time from me
Is like a million infinite moments
Combined into one in which you stare at your screen
Quietly enjoying coffee and my company.

Holding your hands as we walk in dimlighted streets
Is like holding all the treasure there is
Beneath the sea, the mountains, the stars
And it holding me back like I, too, am of equal measure.

Putting my arms around your marbled neck
Is like hanging on for dear life and finding nothing else
That matters apart from clinging in
And staring at your wrinkled, smiling eyes.

Kissing you is like the sea has met the shore
Tidal waves upon waves washing over our emotions
Closed, dreaming eyes groping for each other's hearts
One tongue, one lip, one exchange at a time.

Undressing you was like revealing who we really are
Slipping off your underwear is like finding you again
Tasting your skin is a thousand times better than kissing you
And moving up and down on top of you is like reaching your hidden places.

And tucking myself beneath your arms, hands wrapping around your waist
Skins colliding and melting together in hushed warm breaths
No place have I found safer, so that it wouldn't matter
If the next day the sun would rise or not.
